It is a great honour and a blessing for our Media Art League to be able to send out a message that acknowledges and celebrates the unity of hearts between Mexico and Japan, through our exhibition, “Road of Light and Hope”, in commemoration of the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and the United Mexican States.
As part of the commemorative event on the 8th of November 2018, Miro Ito gave a speech entitled “Ancient Eurasian Wisdom for the Unity of East and West” at the National Museum of World Culture (Museo Nacional de las Culturas del Mundo), in Mexico City where “Road of Light and Hope” is showing until the 3rd of December 2018.
Miro Ito was also invited as a guest lecturer to speak on “Art as Media is a Message for Universality” at the museum library on the 9th Nov. 2018.
Our exhibition at the “Road of Light and Hope” presents 46 pieces of photo artwork in scroll format portraying, among all, select 8th century sculptural masterpieces owned by the Tōdai-ji Temple, that are truly rare National Treasures of Japan.
